Hello
I've setup my LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP m276nw to connect to my home network using a wired connction.
When connected directly to my router the connection initializes and successfully recieves an ip address. I've been able to access all the network function connected to my router directly either wired or wirelessly.
I also have an old Linksys hub and when the printer is connected to the hub, it does not initialize the network connection. The hub works with every other sevice in my network, including a few game consoles and a Mac Mini.
Is there an advance network setting I should be looking at?
Thank you

Hello,
I don't know if an IP conflict is my issue as its not an issue with any other device on the network. But there definitely is some kind of incompatiblity.
I found a work around. I have a old LInksys router, WRT54GS, I was about to sell and read that I could turn it into a switch with some custom firmware, DD-WRT. After installing the custom firmware and following some instructions to configure it into a switch (including the setting a fixed IP like you were suggesting), the router-turned-switch worked like a charm.
So there's definitely an incompatibilty with the Linksys Hub EFAH05W. Maybe this printer doesn't like Hubs. I read the Hubs don't manage network traffic like a router or a switch does.

Hi,
I don't know of any special settings in your unknown model Linksys. I have an old Linksys and it's fairly simple to setup. You should be able to reset the router back to the defaults and then use the connection Linksys Wizard via a wired connection to setup the security, assign the SSID etc.
Are you trying to use the same printer between two different routers?

Hello,
My issue isn't with the router. I have a Linksys EA3500 and when I connct the printer directly to that router, it works fine.
I also have a Linksys 5-Port 10/100 EtherFast Hub, Model EFAH05W. Its also connected to my router. I use it to expand the number of wired connections on my network.
When I connect the printer to the Hub, it does not initialize the network. The network status shows as Unplugged. I have other items connected to that Hub and they work fine.
I was asking if there might be any special setting on the Printer that are required for it to work with a Hub. The printer that m276mw replace, a Konica Minolta Magicolor 1690MF, worked automatically, when connected to the Hub.
Again, my router works fine, my hub works fine. I was wondering if there was any configuration I was missing on the printer.
Thank you

Hi,
- Remove any wired connection before attempting to connect via wireless.
- Print off the printers network configuration and check the settings against your routers settings.
- Ensure that router and printer are using the same frequency.
- Review this HP posted information once you have the above information in hand.
- This information might also be helpful.
- Review page the wireless setup information starting on page 115.

Thanks Dave,
I looked at your suggestions. I'm using a wired connection and everything is fine between the Printer and the Router.
But I'm still not able to get a connection when i put the Hub between the Printer and the Router.
The Hub has no settings of its own. Its supposed to work automatically and it does with other devices.
I might try a newer model.

Hi,
Now I see (I think) what you are trying to do.
If you are trying to extend your network by attaching another wired router(hub) then the originating router should be the only one using DHCP. Set a fixed IP address to the HUB that is not in conflict with any IP in the originating router.

Hi,
Good show!:smileyhappy:
Yes the old Linksys WRT54G is a workhorse. I have two of them. Just be sure that your fixed IP is outside of the DHCP range yet within the same subnet.
