I have an HP Laserjet 1300 connected to a workstation via USB, and subsequently shared to the network via WinXP Pro. I attempt to print multiple copies of a single page using Word (version doesn't matter- it fails in '07 & '03), and it will only print ONE copy despite that I've asked for, for example, 5 copies. This is the case when printing from another workstation via the printer share as well as locally on the system the printer is physically connected to.

We had a spooling problem months ago on the same system that seemed to resolve itself after rebooting the host workstation, but rebooting this time doesn't change anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

I am having exactly the same problem, with an HP C6100 and Win XP Home and MS Word 2003. This just became an issue today and what's really aggravating is that the multip-print option still works in MS Excel.

HP Support? What's happening?

This was also happening to me and I found this solution on another website, tried it, and it worked fine.  This had happened to me before and as soon as I read the solution, I remembered that this solved my issue before.

Good luck...

Select Start, Control Panel, Printers

Right-click the desired printer icon and select Properties.

Select the Device Settings tab.

Find the Mopier Mode and Job Storage settings at the end of the listing.

Change the settings from Enabled to Disabled.

Click Apply and OK.

If necessary, reboot the computer.

I have tried the above remidy, but the device settings only contains 2 items, nothing regarding mopier or job storage.

HP supplied some work around, but it also failed to work.

My client is considering purchase of another printer (not HP)

I notice on the 1300 that Windows seems to favor the PostScript driver (or maybe that's just me).  Are these options specific to the PCL driver?

Had same problem on 1300 just recently....never had issue in the 2 years I've had the printer. You want to change the check in the "Collate" box.  To get there, File/Print/Collate Box. Fingers crossed for you.

Worked Great for me --- tell BURRENTECH he/she goofed in the selection (see below):

I'm using Win7 professional (64bit) and had the same problem with the HP 4000 only printing one copy.   I initially worked around the problem by not selecting the # of copies in the first popup printer window but clicked on PROPERTIES, then click the ADVANCED tab, then select the # of copies there.

HOWEVER, RPStubbs solution is better, WORKS and you don't have to go past the initial printer popup window.  I think BURRENTECH chose PROPERTIES in Stubbs' instruction list and now what he/she should have which is PRINTERP REFERENCES (half way up the list) and NOT Preferences at the bottom.  Then follow the rest of RBStubs' instructions and VOILA, the HP 4000 prints multiple copies as ordered.

Thanks HEAPS RBStubs  -- BTW, isn't it fun to find solutions to your computer problems YOURSELF by searching forums?
