Hi,

I've got the odd situation of a having one of three Laserjet 500 printers that won't print double-sided, despite having identical settings to the other two that do. I've tried a factory reset, doublechecked all the settings several times, and it still persists. Everything else about it works fine, and I'm at something of a loss, so any help appreciated.

Run a config page and compare the model number with the other printer's config page. Config page is located under the administration menu and then reports.

Are you sure this is not a driver issue. In other words are the users able to choose 2 sided printing from the driver. If they are then at the printer if you go to the administration menu and print a menu map from the reports menu does it show duplex as an available options. The printer has to be the dn model and not just the plain n model.

Users are definitely able to choose print on both sides as an option. I printed the menu map, and in the various menus it does include Duplex Blank Pages under Manage Trays, but that is the only reference to duplexing on the menu map.

Is there any way to determine whether it is an n or dn model?

Aha! That did the trick- so turns out that 2 of the 3 printers at this site are the dn model, and this one is not.

Thanks a lot for your help!
