Laserjet 500 M525 MFP
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Our Laserjet 500 M525 MFP gets stuck on HP logo when initializing.

Powered down and reset

There are no options or anything on the screen, just the logo

No countdown or numbers and holding the lower left part of the screen or logo does nothing.

I want to try and update the firmware by usb but can't get to the administrative prompt

Reset the display screen but continues to get stuck on the logo initialization

Cold Reset does not work since can't get to any prompts on the screen.

Please advise on further troubleshooting measures.

Fixed the issue:

I removed the Memory Boot disk

Restarted

On the HP Logo - tap the screen until you hear a click

Boot Menu loads

Go to Start up Menu options and select cold reset

Turn off the printer and reinstall the Memory Boot Disk

Restart - on the logo screen tap on the screen until you hear the click again

Boot Menu Loads - it will already have the cold reset option checked so just hit continue

It will reset - if it gets an error just restart

Mine reset to the factory defaults and now works
