I have no trouble printing from trays 1 or 2, but tray 3 will stop with the leading edge at the exit rollers every time, error 13.02.00 top cover. I gotta believe its a timing issue, but not sure where to look. I have replaced pickup rollers in tray 3, fuser was replaced for a different issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to check, is to print a config page and make sure tray 3 is saying that it is letter if it has letter paper, ect.

If it says its Legal or Exec or something else, that indicates  a bad feeder control bd. I saw that a lot in

the 4000/4050/4100 series and it could be a problem in this one too.

Or if thats not it, if this machine is 8-10 yrs old check the solenoid in tray #3.  It may be sticking badly or it is bad.

Usually the solenoid sticking problems starts out intermittent, like after printing 30-50 pages then

it jams.  A bad solenoid will likely be more sudden and constant. If your tray 3 is 250 sheet it will have

the solenoid that you can order.  The 500 sheet tray may not be. In the manual looks like the paper feed

assy would have to be replaced. You should be able to pull the top part of the machine off of tray 3 and

remove the top to reveal the paper feed assy.

Good luck!

Most common issue with this printer is the orientation of the paper. You can load the paper 2 ways with the leading edge being 8.5 inches or the leading edge being 11 inches. On this printer it likes the leading edge to be 11 inches in tray 3 so make sure you have the paper loaded correctly.
