Hi - I just bought a new Laserjet M225dw. Before buying, I had found a data sheet on the HP website that said:

"Save time and help reduce paper costs, using reliable automatic two-sided printing and copying".

However, I can't seem to figure out how to make it do a two sided copy from the ADF. The copy settings only have two options for 2-sided copies: 1-1 and 1-2. It doesn't have a 2-2 option like some other HP MFP printers do.

Am I missing something??

Thanks.

Hi @boeckelr ,

I see that you are experiencing issues copying two-sided. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.

The documents that you load in the ADF have to be 2 pages.

You can't copy a two-sided document.

Copy on both sides automatically:

  1. Load the original documents into the document feeder with the first page facing up, and with the top of

the page leading.

  1. Adjust the paper guides to fit the size of the document.
  2. Open the Copy Settings menu:
  • LCD control panel: On the product control panel, press the Copy Settings button.
  • Touchscreen control panel: From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Copy

button, and then touch the Settings button.

  1. Select Two-Sided.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the options, and then select the appropriate option.
  3. Start the copy job:
  • LCD control panel: Press the Start Copy button.
  • Touchscreen control panel: Touch Start Copy.

This information is provided by the manual on page 45. LaserJet Pro MFP M225, M226.

Have a great day!
Thank You.

Hello,

So the printer doesn't support automatic two sided copy/scan. I had the same problem as you had and this came from official hp support (here is my post)

You may find the product specifications below:

Duplex printing: Automatic (standard)
Duplex ADF scanning: No

Hello,

The Laserjet M225dw will copy two-sided documents automatically.

I have tested the printer in the Lab.

You have to load 2 or more documents on the ADF, it will not automatically flip a two-sided document to do the copy two-sided. Once you have 2 or more pages loaded on the ADF, select Copy, Settings, Two-Sided and select 1 to 2 sided.

It will pull both the pages through the ADF and then copy the one side and automatically pull the same paper back through and print on the other side. (The printer will prompt you to load a 2nd page to perform the two-sided printing, if you only loaded 1 page in the ADF.)

There are other models that will copy from a two-sided document, like the Officejet 8600 Plus and Premium models.

Hope that helps clarify things.

Thank You.

Hello,

So I think the questions that boeckelr posted could be translated like the following: I have a few two sided documents that I want to copy automatically. Can I do this with the printer ?

And for this the answer is NO, as stated in the post I opened 🙂 Because the printer doesn't have a DADF (DUPLEX AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDER)

Thanks
