Laserjet Pro M102W
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

So I just purchased a laserjet m102w. I am able to go through the installation and print after connecting with USB, but all attempts to connect wirelessly have failed. At first, I tried the WPS setup, which fails to connect.

Next I tried the to use the USB to transfer wireless settings. It does, and the wireless light on the printer goes solid, but whenh the setup attempts to complete, it fails to locate the device in it's search. If I cancel that setup (since the wireless settings are on the printer) and just run the setup as "the device is already connected to the network", it completes the installation, but any print jobs sent to the printer seem to get a fatal error, and i have to cancel the print job.

So I completely uninstalled the printer after going into the web interface (it loads via the printer's ip address on my network, confirming it's connectivity) and resetting to defaults to clear any settings that have been loaded to the printer.

Afterwards, I connected it via usb and pushed the firmware update to it, confirming the change afterwards with the self test configuration page. I tried the usb-towireless setup again and reach the same faiulure point.  Also to note, if the wireless light is solid, showing it is connected to the network, even the printer's own self test page (holding the cancel button til ready flashes) causing all lights to come on solid and reboot the printer.

I have worked in tech support previous for HP products and I have never come across this issue. Another thing to note is that I now work in tech support for my cable ISP, and the modem/router combination I have may be a problem. I got a call a week or so ago from a business customer that also had a similar issue of the printer locking up completely when connected to the wireless network on the same modem modem/router.  She had the larger multifunction printer from the same recent laserjet pro m series, but with her the control panel completely locked up, not even letting her goto the setup menus.

Now both in ehr situation, and in my own situation, the printer has been returned to the store and swapped for another which does the exact same thing.

Do you know of what may be causing this, or if there is some inherant incompatibility with the Arris DG1670 Wireless cable gateway, or the Arris TG1682 Wireless cable telephony gateway?

Thank you.

I found a solution to the problem, and it seems this is a problem with most HP wireless printers and Arris Modems/Routers.

Disable ipv6.

Once it was disabled, the printer begins functioning normally with wireless printing from the PC and from other devices.
