Hello All, I have a LaserJet Pro M401n, and it is picking up the paper from the tray, but then  jams when it is feeding it up into the body of the printer. I then get a no paper pickup message on the printer screen. Feeding from tray 1 is successful.

Thanks for any help!

This problem is usually caused by a small piece of paper in the pickup assembly.  Remove the paper tray and toner cartridge.  Use a flashlight to examine the "slot" where the paper is picked up by the pickup roller.  You should find a small "bunched up" piece of paper caught in one of the corners.  Use a utility knife or other flat object to GENTLY remove the paper.

If the jammed piece is not in that location, examine the area underneath the front of the toner cartridge.  There are two small "doors" or hatches there.  One covers the top of the pickup roller.  The 2nd covers where the paper enters the printer. The jam may be in one of these locations.

The actual error message (no paper pickup) means that the printer has failed to pick up a piece of paper from the input tray.  It does not refer to a missing piece of equipment.

If you have exhausted the above options, there may be a problem with the pickup roller itself.  I suggest calling HP support directly if this turns out to be the case.
