Hi There,
We use the above model as a shared office printer, and from the time we set it up less than a month ago, it produces a squeeling/squeaknig noise when attempting to scan using the ADF (only while pulling paper into the feeder). The flatbed is fine and everything else seems to work well.
I can't isolate where the noise is coming from, but from experience working with high volume document scanners, it sounds to me like its coming from one of the interior rollers on the inside the ADF. Upon manually rolling them, it does not produce a sound however.
I have tried opening the ADF cover, lifting the inner black panel with the pick roller on it, and tried every set of rollers to see if I couldn isolate the noise, with no luck.
Any suggestions for us to try would be greatly appreciated.
Jon

Hello @ShredOffice
The only suggestions that I can make are
Upgrade the firmware for the printer
Make sure that the paper its supported by unit and place correctly into the ADF and the ADF guides adjusted agains the paper
Make sure that the setting for copy its set to the paper in user (before pressing copy go to settings and then paper settings)
Other than than since this printer doesnt have a calibration for the scanner assembly if it is less than 30 days you may want to consider a return with the vendor or exchange if more than 30 days call for warranty options (unless they want you to try something else)

You need to get the machine repaired or replaced.
Firmware does not fix squeaking noises.
