Laserjet Pro 1108
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello there, My HP LaserJet P1108 printer is not installing driver packages in windows 10 Home OS, The smart install wizard just disappears after the extraction process is finished.

Things I tried to Tshoot the issue, yet it's not resolved;

1) Downloaded and tried the full driver feature set from HP support center (file named: hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-v20120831-50157036_SMO - 143MB), still the installation crashes (see Windows 10 screenshot file)

2) Tried to install drivers in Windows 7 ultimate (a virtual machine), it worked flawlessly, So i tried the compatability troubleshooter in windows 10, yet no change.

I attached the event log files regarding the Installation processes and screenshot, please take a look and help me, Thanks in advance.

Hi @Rayappan,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your installation issue.

I understand that you are trying to install an HP LaserJet Pro P1108 Printer on a Windows 10 computer but the installation software crashes. I would like to help with that.

I would start by making sure all Windows 10 Updates have been completed.

Next, I would unplug the USB cable and uninstall all printer related software and drivers. Here is a support document that can be used for reference if needed - Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows).

Once the uninstall is completed restart the computer and printer.

It looks like you had the right installation file. Try the installation again. Here is a like to the download page just in case you would like to try the download again - HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

In fact, if this helps you to reach a solution please click the "Accept as Solution", and the "thumbs up" buttons down below in this message. 🙂

Thanks!

Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
