HP deskjet 5650

While my grandfather was trying to change the black ink cartridge on his printer, the latch covering the cartridge broke in half. Are we able to replace this/can a part be sent out? I have seen a similar post to this on this forum and the responce was to contact HP support as this is a hardware issue. I cannot seem to find a way of contacting a human regarding this and have been unable to find how to get a case number.
Please help!
