My printer keeps telling me, low on memory, printjob cancelled.
I have already installed the latest software version, that wasnt the solution.

Cant find anything on the web about low memory for my printer or how to solve it.

Hi @HuizerHenk,

I understand that you are getting a low memory while trying to print. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.

I have been seeing this lately and have included a couple of fixes for this issue.

I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

Test the printer.

If you are still having issues, continue the steps below:

Reset the Printing System on the Mac and readd the printer back in again, make sure you select the printer and not the Apple preinstalled driver.

Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.

Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.

Click Printers & Scanners.

Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.

Click OK to confirm the reset.

Type the correct Name and Password.

Click OK to reset the printing system.

Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.

Try printing again.

From what I have seen so far, the printer is not getting the "Low Memory" error when it is connected by a USB cable.
That would lead me to believe that it might be a communication issue over the network.

Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address.

For networked printers:
Delete the printer from Printers and Scanners.
Click on the + button, select the IP Protocol across the top, type in the printer's IPv4 address, select Jet Direct below and then Apply. You would have to scan though, through the Bonjour driver added.

Test the printer again.

Hi @kaka88,

Are you also having this issue with a USB connection?

What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?

Update the printer's firmware. Software and Drivers.

I will send you another step to try in a private message.

Same problem as above, even when I try to print a 100 character simple email.

I am connecting from a 2014 Mac Book Pro via USB and wireless--with the same result both times.

My printer will not print. None of the above solutions worked for me. What other suggestions do you have?

Thanks!

Hi @JNKHPH8,

Are you also getting the Low Memory error when printing, or you just can't print? I would like to be able to help you.

Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.

We've been having this problem for months. We're using it wirelessly with both macs and a pc - and I'm getting very frustrated. It will only print out very basic docs, nothing at all from the web. Any ideas, before I throw it away and buy something else?  Thank you.

Hi @I_Jay,

I see by your post that you are getting a "Low Memory" error when printing on the Mac and Window computers. I would like to help you.

On the Mac, delete the printer from Printers and Scanners.
Click on the + button, select the IP Protocol across the top, type in the printer's IPv4 address, select Jet Direct below and then Apply. You would have to scan though, through the Bonjour driver added.

Test the printer again.

On the Windows computer, I believe this model has the option to increase the printer memory from the Printer Properties.

Go to Start, Devices and Printers, right click your printer, left click Printer Properties, click on Device Settings tab, go down to Installable Options, select Printer Memory and from the drop down see what choices you have.

Try printing from another browser, when printing from the web, to see if you have the same results.

If the issue persists, connect the printer by a USB cable, to rule out a network issue.

If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below.

If you have any issues, please let me know what steps you have taken and the results. Thank You.
