Hi @SwissCanuck and @rajeevtp,

If the printer is networked, try and access the printer's Embedded Web Server and turn off the IPv6 feature.

Type the IPv4 address for the printer into a web browser. (Internet Explorer)
Once you access the Embedded Web Server for the printer, click the Networking tab.
Click on Advanced in the left side menu.
Uncheck the box for IPv6.
Apply the settings.

I will send you another step to try in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

If the issue continues, please Contact HP Support for further assistance. Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance.

If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. Thank You.

Hello. I have the same problem as above. Printer stucked at HP+Energy star logo. I have unsuccessfully tried power off for 60 secs, power drain by pressing power button, turning on|off IPv6, NVRAM reset and firmware upgrade.

NVRAM reset stucked on "Permanent storage init", firmware upgrade failed due to unknown problem. HP Print doctor didn`t find any problems.

Web-interface is reachable, i can change any option. Scanner is working fine even by the network. Printing is not working neither byt USB nor by Ethernet.

Can i try anything else?

Thanks.

Hi @Ghrar,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand that the printer is stuck at HP+Energy star logo and you have listed all the troubleshooting steps that you have tried. Thanks for providing all that information. I would like to help you out, but it looks like the  printer will need to be serviced. You have already tried the firmware and Nvram Reset with the same results.

Please Contact HP Support and inquire about service. Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance.

Let me know the outcome. Thank you.

I am apologizing about my english. My problem is solved. Here is the step-by-step solution:
Prerequisites:
Device is stucked on HP+Energy star logo. Attempting NVRAM reset caused to "Permanent storage unit" message without any progress in hours. Restarting device shows no NVRAM reset - all settings leaving untouched.
Device is still accessible by web-interface.
Device performs scanning as usual (in my case).
HP Scan and print doctor says the device is ok, internal test page can be printed (color aligning page).
Firmware upgrade can`t connect to device and upgrade can`t be started.
Installing original driver fails after connecting device on 99% progress and than says  something like "program running to long and can`t be completed", rolls installation back and restarts OS.

Solution:
Turn the device off, disconnect USB cable (HP installer will say when needed) and turn power on again.
Upgrade process can be started only with original HP USB driver. All other HP drivers must be deinstalled before and windows must be restarted. Best choise is brand new windows, but in my case deinstalling was enough.
Full software installation must be done normally (I used original CD shipped with printer), but the test page wouldn`t printed. It`s ok.
Then the firmware update software must be started only once with administrator priveleges. Updater is a bit sluggish so be patient and do not hurry. Normally it starts in a minute. Push an "Update" button once and wait again. Double push will not be visible but it will crash a program;). In case of error close all windows wait for a minute and start firmware updater as administrator again.
Update will be done normally in 2-3 minutes, and device will be automatically restarted. No setting will be changed.

I`m wondering about internal phisical and program architecture of this device.

Thanks for providing that detailed information on how you resolved the issue @Ghrar.

Just to clarify, you disconnected the USB cable.

Ran the uninstall.

Reinstalled the printer software again from the CD.

Still being signed in as the Administrator, you ran the firmware update again.

These steps resolved the display stuck on the HP Logo.

So I am wondering if the first time the firmware update was done, that it didn't fully install.

Thanks again for sharing with everyone. Have a wonderful day!
