Can one print from an old MS-DOS program to the 1050C? I have a surveyor who still uses DOS programs. Presently prints to a 750C. He may want to print to a 1050C if possible. He doesn't presently have a 1050C.

I don't think there is a DOS driver for the 1050C.

I'm thinking perhaps he could just connect to the 1050C and print as he normally would to the 750C, and that possibly it would print to the 1050C. I don't know.

i.e. perhaps he could just use the MS-DOS 750C driver.

Has anyone ever had anyone attempting to print from an MS-DOS program to the 1050C? If so, could they? And if they could, how did they do it?

If he can print to a 750C with the program then he should be able to print to the 1050C using the same dos driver as both plotters have hp gl2 and pcl3 support.

So he could simply replace the 750C with the 1050C, connect in the same manner--parallel cable, and simply print to the 1050C without having to add the 1050C printer and install a driver for it in DOS?
