DesignJet 130nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm getting a band of lavender or pink at the top edge of prints from Photoshop, even when converting the file to grayscale and choosing Black only.

I tried switching whether the printer of photoshop manages colors, without success.

So, I believe some calibration is called for, but the utility fails to start. Apparently the utility is started by calling some html from the programs folder. I was able to hack around and get it to start, but then the printer is not found. No success with changing compatibility modes or permissions.

I'm writing this in frustration from memory at home, so a visit to work where the problem exists will be able to provide more concrete details, if requested, in a day or so.

Any ideas?

I am having the same problem. System manager is this hidden genie that never seems to come out of the bottle.

HP sucks!

As a matter of fact I have been trying to run system maintenance since January.   I even ordered the disk from HP's website and paid around $18.00 to have it expidited.  No luck there.  They took the money and never mailed the cd.

Calling is a waste of time because you get reps that barely speak english.

I even wrote a letter and mailed it (yes snail mail) to different higher ups in the company.  No response.

Banding issues are usually related to printheads.

However, you can't tell which one until you run system manager. 😞

Back at work, and my printer is a 130nr, not 120...

Printhead Alignment is not reporting an error. It printed one sheet with a checkmark at the bottom.

The only thing that stands out in the Information Pages is that the Yellow cartridge has expired. I just replaced it.

Every entry in the Color Calibration section is either Expired or Not Calibrated.

Because you are running Windows 10 I am assuming you are running these reports by pressing certain sequences in the front panel?

Correct!

I'm able to successfully print on Satin paper, which, thankfully, we do a lot of, but my attempts on other paper still don't go well. BUT the band of color is no longer there, probably brought on by the replacement of the yellow cartridge.
