Just experienced a mechanical issue with this printer that has worked admirably for quite a while. Let's see if I can explain it cogently.
When I insert the loaded paper tray, the paper edge is not lifted to engage with the feeder mechanism inside the printer. The spring mechanism in the paper tray that lifts the inserted paper seems ok, but does not engage when inserted. I have felt around inside the rear of the tray slot for something that would release it, but have no clue what to look for.
The result is as expected; jamming and failure to load paper.
Anyone have ideas?

As I understand you are having an issue with Media try on your HP OfficeJet printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,
I reviewed your post and found that this looks to be a printer hardware. Before you could contact our HP phone support, I would suggest you try these steps here:
Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to open the tray and check for any obstructions inside the printer. If nothing appears, close the tray and make sure it's properly inserted.
If the issue persists, I would suggest this could be an issue with the printer itself, I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for available service options. If your product is out of warranty, please choose paid options to get the tech support number.
