Hp Envy 4502
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
My Hp Envy 4502 will not copy or scan. Scan Doctor- scan driver will not communicate with product. I have uninstalled and installed drivers numerous times, updated firm ware, checked fire walls, turned off/ unplugged.... it actually scanned and printed for about 5 min after I updated firm ware then went back to not scanning or copying 🙄😒

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to scan or copy from your HP ENVY 4502 e-All-in-One Printer.

 

This issue could occur if the scanner mechanism is not working.

 

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

 

In order to isolate the issue between the software and the hardware of the unit, I suggest that you make a copy from the control panel of the unit.

 

You may check this link on how to make a copy: Copying Documents

 

If the copy is fine, then it is a software issue else a hardware issue with the scanner.

 

If the copy is fine, then you may follow the steps in the links below depending on how it is connected to the computer:

 

1. USB Scanner Connection Error (Windows)

 

2. Network Scanner Connection Error (Windows)
