HP Envy 4520

I have an HP Envy 4520.  I have for several months.  It prints and scans great but takes 5 minutes to copy a black and white paper.  I have a USB port.  Is there a ay to speed up copying.

Thanks for your continued participation on the HP Forums @raemor!

I came across your message about the HP printer issue and wanted to pop in to help 🙂

Going through your post, I see that your Envy printer is taking a long time to copy documents. This normally happens when the scanner mechanism is not getting enough power to perform the scan. Try the steps listed below to try and fix this issue:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle and then make a copy.

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Good luck 🙂

I want to thank DVortex for trying but it did not solve my problem.

It still took 5 minutes to copy a document.  I tried several times.
