HP Photosmart 7525
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My 7525 printer was wireless connected and printing wireless up to 24 hours ago. Today, it is not connected and won't print. All other wireless devices continue to work on our network. I have followed all HP instructions, including an HP troubleshooter that had me add my MAC address to my router settings. After 12 hours of trying to fix this, now I am on hold waiting for phone support.

The actual error on the Wireless Network Test Results is "The WPA security passphrase configured on your HP printer does not match your wireless router setting". But the printer is not connected to the router. The blue light is flashing.

A solution is needed soon - help please!

Hi @Grace-in-BC ,

I see that you are having issues connecting the printer over the wireless network again. I will do my best to help you.

Here is a document to verify the Encryption for the network.

How to Find the WEP or WPA Key or Password for Your Wireless Network.

If you are still having issues setting up the printer through the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer, try setting up the printer over the network by the USB connection. Start at number 4.

Setting Up the Printer Software for a Wireless Network for the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Print...

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Have a great day!
Thank You.

I had already tried what you suggested, two days ago.

Very early on Feb 26, I telephoned HP support, paid for a service call, and the solution was to change to router security type to WPA from WPA2. A change must have occurred between my internet provider and the ARRIS router. The good news for HP and myself is that I purchased a 2 year support plan, so that I won't time again - hopefully!

I am happy that HP telephone support helped me, even with having to pay. They had received at least 5 other calls from SHAW customers with this problem. Maybe all companies involved could post the solution for specific customers earlier than in my case. If 1 of the 3 parties involved had done that, I would have been up and running much sooner!

I am troubled in that I had already called my internet provider (SHAW) to see if they had changed anything and the answer was no. The consumer seems to be in a ping-pong match between internet providers, router companies and printer companies. Too bad for everyone!

Thanks very much for sharing that information Grace-in-BC.

I am really glad to hear that you are up and running again over the wireless network.

That is really odd that you had to change the security from WPA2 to WPA, the printer should have worked on both types of security. Could have been another setting causing the issue.

Thanks again. :generic:

Have a wonderful weekend!

working model. My husband bought this for me as a gift, it worked for a while & now there is nothing we can do to get it to print wireless & there is no option on the printer to hook it directly into the router. It's a very poor choice on HP's part & NO, dragging my computer to the printer & hooking it via USB is an unacceptable option. I need this information ASAP, for the fact that I have such a printer for a reason, I do not need a very large brick in my house!

Print a configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address.

HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer Series - Printing a Network Configuration Page.

If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IPv4 address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)

If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.

Power cycle the  router, computer and printer. Try printing again.

Please try these steps in this document if the issue persists.

HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer Series - Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.

What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

What type of router do you have and what type of Encryption are you using? (WEP, WPA2, WPA)

If you have any issues, please let me know what steps you have taken and the results. Thank You.

I cannot get my HP Officejet 8610 to attach to one of my computers, a Lenovo T450s.  It shows it is installed on the latptop. The printer is connect and working on the wireless network.  the computer is working on the same wireless network.  However, it won't print.  One report said that there was no two way communication with the printer.  What could be wrong?  It works on my phone, ipad and ASUS laptop.  I am exhausted trying to fix it.  I have been unsuccessful in finding a telelphone number to call HP.

Thanks for providing that information @BarbAdler.

The printer won't work on the wireless network when you have the VPM in use. Here is a document with some more information about VPN, that you may want to take a look at. Using printer with Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Have a nice day!  Thank You.

This did not work, I have tried everything, I am at the end of my rope.  We tried a hard reset, the printer see's every network but ours.  All our other devises use the network just fine & the printer is right near the router
