HP LaserJet 4100 n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two trays besides the manual feed function yet my 4100n does not recognize the trays and only prints from one tray.  Although there are legal and letter sizes throughout the document, only one size is chosen from the default tray.  How do I get the printer to recognize the different sizes for each tray and select them for printing properly?

First you have to make sure the printer sees the correct size and type paper in each tray. From the information menu on the printere choose configuration report and select. The first page of the report will tell you what the printer thinks it has in each tray. The size is determined by the switches on the side of the tray and the type is entered at the printer or using the web interface if networked. In the driver under the tray selection you should choose automatically selected so whatever paper size and type of paper is sent from the driver will print from the appropriate tray as long as the printer thinks the size and type match the job.
