My MFP276nw does not detect an active phone line even though there is one.

My MFP276nw does not detect an active phone line even though there is one. Tried an ADSL filter also with no luck.. Exasperating.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. 

I understand that you have an HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 and it does no detect an active phone line. You have also tried the ADSL filter and the issue persists. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

• Are you using a phone line with ADSL fax connection?
• If it is some other type of fax connection (like Analog fax connection or a cable modem-fax connection) then please do let me know.

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the steps as described in this link in detail. NOTE: Please refer to steps mentioned under "Faxes cannot be sent or received or the problem cannot be determined."
