I my printer is off line.........PLEASE, how do I get this fixed so I can print and get on with my work.

This is the most frustrating thing. Why can't the instructions to get my printer to ONLINE from OFFLINE be accomplished without a degree in computer science? Why must I search all over the Internet for secret Reddit threads to get an answer? I don't have the admin passwords to get the Helper/Wizard/Whatever to diagnose the issue. 

 

At least once a year this happens, I spend multiple hours searching the bowels of the web, and eventually it solves itself. Only this time it never fixed itself. I just started using a different computer and it works fine (AAARRRRGGGGGHHH!!!!), but THAT'S NOT CONVENIENT. 

 

This printer, and computer, and even the laptop that works fine, were all given to me from my employer, and now I have to monitor my email for some random HP email from support in the next few days to get some update that will likely be: "You'll need to LA Unified for this."

 

I'm using a Laser Jet Pro M201 DW and running the most current windows (as far as I know).

 

This "Offline" issue started in August and I've just dealt with it, BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO?

Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdw goes offline.  Sometimes a combination of rebooting the computer and temporarily unplugging the printer works, but the problem recurs after there is a series of unaccountable paper jams.  The printer sometimes makes loud banging noises.  Multiple attempts to reconnect to my Apple Monterey computer fail.

I have been having the same problem for some time. I have HP Deskjet 4620 and I have connected it direct to my HP pavilion dv7.with USB cable. If I use MS word I can print without the "off line" any other print job like email , I get the 'Off Line" notice. I  also deleted the wifi, and still it doesn't print emails.
