WHILE installing driverin of hp deskjet 1050printer on my macbook air .... they asked for password

Going through your post, I understand that you are asked for a password while installing the Deskjet printer. This will be your MAC system password. While installing a software, the MAC generally asks for the administrator / system password to continue with the process. Hence, try entering your MAC system password and try installing.

 

 

Also, you can try installing the printer using the MAC built-in drivers. Here are the steps:

  1. Turn on the printer and connect the printer from your MAC to the printer using the USB cable.
  2. Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  3. Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  4. Click the “Add button” (+).
  5. Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  6. Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)

Still facing same problem...

 

* My printer is ok as I have checked with other computer.

* When I was plugged in, I found the printer "HP Deskjet 1050 J410 series.

* openned a worddocument and select print job and click print and ok .....

 

but it is neither printing nor found in pending print job....

 

Please suggest....

I understand that the issue still persists after following the steps provided in the previous interaction.

 

Let me jump in with a solution for this issue in place of my colleague as he is out of the office today.

 

This issue could occur if the drivers are not configured.
