Browsers, most file editors (for example, Office Word), photo printing software, and PDF Readers, all provide some form of "Print Preview".  The complexity and avilable options depend on the program, the printer, the printer software, and (to a large extent) your Operating System.

To make use of Print Preview, you must open the file in an application / program that provides printing for that file type.

For example, Open a PDF file in Adobe Reader DC > Click the Printer Icon > set options on main print menu > Click "Properties" to set / adjust / verify the rest of the print settings.
