Thanks for stopping by at HP Support Forums and posting your query. I'll do my best to help you out. 🙂
I read that you get a scanner failure on your HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One Printer. I would like to know the below information to assist you better:
- Is the printer able to make a copy?
- Are you using Windows or Mac OS?
- Does the print respond to print commands given from the computer?
- When was the last time the scanner worked and if any changes took place on the printer after which it stopped working?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the below steps to troubleshoot the issue:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
If you're using Windows, then please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This software will detect and fix any print and scan drivers related issue.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes. I will assist you further. Cheers! 🙂
