ENVY 4501
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just installed my HP ENVY 4501 printer.  Has given me a 'paper jam' error even before I put in any paper.  I have tried going through the motions of clearing a paper jam several times- there is no paper jam!  I read a different post on this forum that said I should perform a RESET, however, the link to the instructions goes nowhere.   Can someone tell me how to RESET and start over?  Very frustrating.  My ten-year old Epson is about to get re-installed and this is about to go in the trash.  Help?

I would not assume a reset is needed.  The printer may report a paper jam if it is trying to print (for example an alignment page) but there is no paper loaded. The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the false paper jam on your Envy 4501.

Thanks, but I've already been through that document and all of the other troubleshooting steps I could find.  Last thing to try is the factory reset.  Printer has been sitting in it's box, unopened, for about a year, so I doubt I will get any other direct help from HP at no charge.  At this point, it is essentially DOA.  Do you know how to do the factory reset?  -- Thanks.

The post here by @banhien described how to restore the HP Envy 4500 series printer to its factory defaults.
