I have misplace the username and pw of my OJ 8620e.  How to I perform a reset?

I am adding a second OJ 8620e on the same wireless network.  Are there any special considerations I need to make?

When I clicked on the blue envelope, it took me to a message that had to do with laptop batteries.   I still need the information on resetting my OJP 8620e username and password.  HELP!

I received the solution and applied it as described and it did not work.  I still am getting a request for a user id and a PW that I cannot remember.  Even if I sign into this account, it doesn't help.

I need to be able to change setting via the webpage   Can you help.

I have installed the second 8620e on the network, but I am concerned that it will lock up, too.  HELP!

Hello @rfgroup

Thanks for the reply!

Could you please tell me when exactly are you prompted to enter the user name and the password? Are you getting this message while connecting the printer to the network or while trying to perform some other printer function? Please explain in detail. That would help me come up with a proper solution.

Also, I do not think there is any issue while installing the second printer. Please try installing and let me know the result.

Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!

Have a great day 🙂

When I am at the EWS page for the print, every option offered indicates "This feature has been locked by the administrator." I cannot change any of my settings, even Energy Save Mode.  If I click on it, I get a pop-up with the heading "Authentication Required"  further stating "https://192.168.1.xxx is requesting your username and password. The site says "admin" and then two lines for User Name and Password.

How can I reset it to remove the need for a username and password?

Thank you.

Hello, @rfgroup

Thanks for the reply!

I understand that the printer EWS is locked and is asking for authentication. This issue is normally fixed by performing a semi-full reset on your printer. That will normally put the printer back to the factory state where there is no need for authentication in the printer EWS. Where you able to perform the semi-full reset correctly?

If you did, then I would suggest updating the printer firmware and then try the semi-full reset again. You can go to http://hp.care/2eCf6N0 and download and update the firmware. Please make sure to read the installation instructions to perform the update correctly. Once the firmware is updated, restart your printer and attempt another go for the semi-full reset. That should do the trick.

You can also try performing a network restore from the printer control panel. Go to Setup - Network / Wireless - Restore network defaults.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Good luck 🙂
