Can you help me reinstall my printer with out my CD?  The printer is not working properly. It is very slow in printing. I wanted to uninstall it and reinstall to see if this would help the proplem. There have not been any changes to my system before the problem started. I don't use my printer often. I thought it my need to be cleaned or serviced, but I wanted to try this before I took it in for servicing.

Hi Babs1955,

Yes, online drivers are available for downloading so you will not need an actual installation disk. I am unsure of which model of printer you are working with and operating system, therefore, I am going to post you the direct link to the drivers page.

You will need to input your printers model number and follow the steps from there until you see your driver.

If you are unable to find the driver, please let me know your model number and OS and I will be happy to find it for you!

Take care:)

You do not tell us the model of the printer and the computer operating system. Go to the link below and put in your model number and then choose your operating system and download the software you will need.

I need to reinstall my printer that was mistakenly deleted and I don't have the CD.  It is an  HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z operating on a computer running Windows 7.

Hi @md4golf,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues installing the printer drivers on Windows 7. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

I suggest you to uninstall the existing drivers for the printer completely from Windows 7:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click  https://support.hp.com/drivers (Please enter the product number and then select Software and driver download, please choose the Operating system and version of Windows before downloading and installing the latest printer software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
