In the front panel of your Officejet 8600 printer click on the Wireless icon 
Then select on Settings > HP Wireless Direct > click Security - ON
Enter a simple numeric password, something familiar for your Wireless Direct password.
* Click on YES button to say thanks,
* Click on the button Accepted Solution if the question is answered.
