I recently bought my new HP 15-ay110na 15.6" laptop from Amazon with the impression that it came with a Gigabit Ethernet network card, which I have confirmed with a check of the specification on multiple websites.
When I plug a CAT 5E Gigabit rated network cable into the laptop instead of running at the maximum speed of 1GBps the connection speed runs at 100MBps maximum, the CAT 5E cable is connected to a switch which connects to the Gigabit Ethernet rated router with a CAT 6 Ethernet Cable running at 1GBps.
Not long after getting my laptop I upgraded smoothly from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Educational for my studies and I have only just noticed that the network speed isn't running at its maximum speed, is there any reason why the connection is running at 100MBps maximum and not 1GBps?
Thanks, Daniel.
