I have used the "align cartridges" but this has not fixed it. This printer is only a week old and I am disappointed I'm having issues already.
I am using a MAC with MAC OS 10.12 Sierra

Hello, @Fancyfrancy – Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
I understand that your printer is not printing centered even after aligning the printer. Was the alignment successful? Let me know.
Also, to assist you better, I need to know whether the printer can make a good copy or not. Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.
If the copy comes out good, then follow the steps mentioned below to fix the issue:
- Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
- Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
- Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
- Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
- Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
- Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
- Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
- Click the “Add button” (+).
- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
- Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)
Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!
Good luck 🙂

Hello, @Fancyfrancy
Thanks for the update!
How about the alignment process? Was that successful?
Since the copy also is not centered, the issue could be with the way the paper is fed to the printer or issues with the paper feed rollers or paper feed path.
First off, make sure the paper is fed correctly. Once you feed the paper, make sure the paper stack is pushed deep into the paper tray and then close the paper guides on each side of the stack to hold the paper firmly in place. Now try making a copy. You can also try using a different media or paper size to test.
If the issue persists, go to http://hp.care/2ehhd8x and follow the step 4 to clean the paper path and the paper feed rollers.
Let me know if that helps!
Cheers 🙂
