Is there way to create a network or something and then connect the printer wirelessly to my Mac at school?

HP Recommended

Probably not.  Most school networks do not allow device-to-device communication, otherwise everyone could see everyone else's computers on the network.

You could ask the network admin, but I doubt you will like the answer.

Actually, yes there is.  Go here.

Connect wireless printer anywhere, convert from wired, bypass failed radio, add WPA2 security.
