HP Officejet Pro 8500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings,

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer and was wondering if there is a way to print (just in black ink) when the color cartridges are low in ink?

Currently, it will not print at all since the Magenta cartridge is low.  I mostly use just black ink and was wondering if I can bypass this low ink error message for color cartridges and just print in black ink?

Thanks in advance!

You will need to replace the depleted cartridge(s) to avoid damage to the printhead.  Running the Officejet 8500 with a depleted ink cartridge can cause air in the plumbing or into the printhead, causing difficult and/or expensive issues.

Thanks.  I guess I was hoping that there was a way to just print with black ink.  Looks like my only recourse is to replace the color cartridge.
