My printer will not print colored fonts,  will only print text in black.  It will print colored highlights and colored images/photos (like logos or clipart).  All ink cartridges are full.  The Printer Status Report does not show any errors.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

@CYPrinter

A very warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you.

I understand that you have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer can print in color the logos and other images. But cannot print the text in color. The text is printed only in black. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

The evidence indicates that the printer's hardware is all good and there is an issue with the software.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Which application are you trying to print from and have you tried to print multiple applications and checked?
  • Did any software changes or updates happen on the printer?

Meanwhile, I suggest you to perform the following steps that should make the text print in color:

  • Open "Devices and printers". Below images are an example of how it looks:

  • Right click on your printer and select "printing preferences."
  • In the printing preferences window, click on the "Advanced" tab.
  • Under the advanced tab, please look for "Print All Text as Black" and ensure it is disabled.

  • Click on Apply and OK.
  • Now you should be able to have the text printed in color.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know how it goes. Good luck! 🙂
