I just got a message when sending a job to the printer - an hp Laserjet 4300.
This is not a message I've ever seen before and I have no idea what it means. I tried to google what OPC means and if it is something I can buy a replacement for, but so far I can't find it. I also searched on the hp website but could not find any info. Any ideas on what this is?
message just says "OPC almost at end-of-life"

OPC drum = Organic Photo Conductor drum - part of the print cartidge.
As far as I can determine, the toner in a cartridge usually runs out before the OPC drum stops working, but this is presumbly not always the case.
It seems that the imaging drum wears based on rotations. To ensure print quality, the drum typically rotates before and after each job or document.
Hence frequent, short-page jobs will decrease imaging drum life more than long, continuous page jobs.
