Hello, @David-Hamilton – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums! I would be glad to be of your assistance 🙂
I see by your post that you are getting a “print head error” with a "0X" code on your Officejet printer. I will certainly do my best to help you 🙂
This error is normally caused due to the print head assembly or the power unit related issues. You can try the following steps:
- Remove the cartridges from the printer.
- Now, with the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
- Now try inserting the cartridges to check the issue resolution.
If the issue persists, then try updating the printer firmware as well. Go to http://hp.care/2kOSqri to update the firmware. Check the installation instructions before you start to update.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Good luck 🙂
