HP OfficeJet 3820

I own an OfficeJet 3830 printer and it has lost the ability to print in color three times now.

Each time I have followed instructions in previous posts and finally got it to print in color again, only to have it stop printing in color months down the road. Can HP please look into a permanent fix as it is truly frustrating to waste 10-12 sheets of paper and 30 minutes repairing the issue each time it happens.

..and now I've spent a full hour and I still cannot print a very important document in color. Such a frustrating user experience.

Hi @SundayDriver,

1. Download the HP Print Doctor from the next link:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

2.    Run and select the option for "Fix Printing"

3.  Restart the computer and try again to print in Color.

FerRX, I'm a veteran software engineer and I tried all of the HP doctor and forum suggestions before making this post. The printer simply will not continue to print in color. It always reverts back to black and white and it takes hours of uninstalling and re-installing and rebooting and wasting paper and ink to get it to start printing in color again. Is anyone from HP on this forum?

I just used the support menu on the printer to perform a semi full reset on the printer, uninstalled all HP software and printer drivers, rebooted, re-install the printer driver, and was able to print ONE PAGE in color. I immediately repeated the print procedure for THE SAME EXACT PAGE and it started printing in black and white again. This printer is terrible and I cannot get through to anyone in HP support because they are always closed.
