Having the same problem as other contributors here.....brand new OfficeJet Pro 8710 will not print Avery cardstock, Avery notecards or business cards. I have changed the plain paper setting to "heavy paper", tried to "cushion" the stock in the paper tray with additional paper underneath, fanned the paper, all to no avail. The rollers will not pick up the paper -- only plain paper!
My previous Office Jet handled all of the above beautifully. There has to be a solution to this or else it goes back to Office Depot for a full refund. HP, what is the solution, please? Thanks.

Hi,
What is your paper weight?
What is the paper size?
The printer supports up to 200g wheight as listed under Paper Handling Specifications > Paper Tray Capacities below:
Ay of those may affect the printing and require a maching configuration.
May you have an Avery model number to get a better understanding of any possible cause?

Paper size is 8 1/2 x 11
Avery products are note cards (8315), paper weight 230g -- Avery business cards (8877), 254g -- Avery postcards (8387), weight not listed.
All of these products worked great on my previous OfficeJet Pro.
If the 8710 can't handle heavier weight stock, which OfficeJet Pro can? Thanks.

I just returned two HP 8710 because, among other things, they would not print cardstock no matter what I did (Strathmore 5"x7" greeting cards, about 65lb weight. Constant false paper jams and no way to tell the printer there was no paperjam. In my opinion this printer can not be used to print cardstock no matter what they tell you. I returned it and bought a HP officejet pro 7740. It is somewhat better when the paper tray is filled quite high. It must be repeatedly told to select thick paper and 5"x7" size and it still has problems, but certainly better than the 8710.
