Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to print wirelessly from a brand new HP Officejet 5740 with factory-provided ink cartridges, but it won't print colours in documents or photos, despite the print diagnostic sheet being excellent and the WiFi connection working well.  I'm using Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 15 and Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire E14 (E5-432-P9EZ).  The problem occurs with both computers.  I have installed the up-to-date print driver software.

Greetings @mjp-paints

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are unable to print in color and the printer is setup wireless.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

Are you able to make a copy in color?

Is there enough ink in the color cartridge?

Are you using genuine HP ink?

Request you open control panel on your computer by doing a right-click on the Windows button.

Open devices and printers in the Control Panel.

Right-click on the printer and select printing preferences.

On the Printing preferences pop up window that comes up.

Click on the Paper/Quality tab and select Color and then click on Ok.

You can also refer to this HP article for assistance to print only in black.

Let me know how it goes.
