Officejet 6962

Just got a 6962 printer, for use as a tablet printer, a fax machine and to make copies.

I don't have computer hooked up to the unit.

I've been testing the fax portion of the printer, I recieve faxes on it, but it only saves them to memeory, not prints them out automatically. I have to go back into the memory and force the machine to print them.

There are no errors popping up that would stop the printer from working as I can still copy and print without an issue.

I have successfully sent out faxes too. It's just not printing them when I recieve them.

Thanks

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet 6962 All-in-One Printer and it does not print the faxes it receives. Instead, the faxes get stored in the memory and you have to again manually print them. I'd like to assist you with this case.

I suggest you to refer to page no. 44 onwards from the user guide and it explains how to receive faxes automatically or manually. I hope this information is useful. Feel free to let me know how it goes. Cheers! 🙂

I've done some testing with th  the printer since I first posted.

The printer recieves faxes, both automatically, which I had set up before, as well as manually.

But the printer does not print said faxes when received, it only saves them into memory until I go into the Reprint section of the fax. This is the only time I can get the fax to print out, I can find no setting that should cause this in the manual, which I first went through before setting up the printer and again when you mentioned where the answer might be.

Thanks for your reply. 🙂

I did some research and could not find a setting which explains how to stop faxes from being sent to memory and not print directly. However, you can try this below workaround:

  • Restore defaults on the printer. (Refer to page# 132 from the user guide for steps)

If the issue persists then you may have to re-setup the fax on your printer. Keep me posted. Cheers!
