My Officejet will not print 65lb card stock. I understand that springs are too soft to pick up the paper. How can I go about getting HP to replace the paper tray with the stronger springs?
I can not find ANY way to contact HP support regarding this problem.
Thank you,
Chris

Hi @Hitechrisb,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP forums. A very good day to you. I understand that you require assistance regarding printing using card stock. It will be a delight to assist you.
Fabulous description and super smart diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. You are a valued HP customer and it is a privilege to share this platform with you.
For starters, I will require more information regarding this to assist you better.
- Has it ever worked before on this type of paper?
- Have you checked the product specifications for supported card stock and checked if this is supported as far as its dimensions go?
- Have you tried with different supported card stock?
- Have you tried different trays?
Please check the product specifications for card stocks from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-series/7902014/document...
Please look up the product specifications for card stocks under “paper-handling specifications” and “supported card stock” options.
If this card stock is not supported, then you need to use only the ones supported in the list.
Please use the user guide from this link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05048181 for further assistance. Please check pages 22-25.
Please try these steps:
change the printing preferences to media: card stock and under paper size: index card letter.
Then check if it prints correctly. Please check this link out for printing documents that give you information that is useful: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-series/7902014/document... Look up the option “Change the following layout and paper settings for your print job. Menu names and available settings vary by printer.” which is option 4.
Please check the supported custom sizes from the product specifications and if the card stock is supported, then you could create suitable custom sizes from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-series/7902014/document...
Please check this solution authored by a forum expert also from his link: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/New-officejet-pro-8710-does-not-print-on-heavy-weight-p...
The only solution would be to try and use a different card stock brand which is supported by the HP printer based on the product specifications.
To contact HP phone support please perform these steps:
