When I send a print job to the H470 printer, it makes a soft, whirring sound for about one second and does not feed the paper.

*Only the green power light is blinking.

*I checked inside the printer, and nothing is seems to be jammed or stuck.

*The sound is like a small electric motor stuck something; the paper-feed roller is not moving at all.

I checked earlier posts with similar problems and tried all their suggestions--15 second unplug, clean the black ink reservoir thing and reset the printer, check proper paper settings, etc.--and nothing so far. I would like to hear some feedback from this helpful community before contacting HP support and figuring out if I need to service the printer and if so if it is worth it. Thanks!

Thanks for your helpful suggestions! I found out that what's causing the problem is this: A small, white, plastic cogwheel came out from inside the printer body while I was physically checking it. I guess this wheel is what is preventing the paper feed machinery from working. So it looks like I need to get my printer serviced.

Now, would sending the printer for an HP service be worth the cost? I could consider it if the total cost is under $75; but over that I don't think it's worth it. Thank you again!
