HP DeskJet 2050
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Formerly the HP Deskjet 2050 used HP 122 cartridges. It now uses HP 61 cartridges; but the printer says these are incompatible. I installed the latest drivers to no avail.

Hi,

The 122 ink cartridges are intended for specific regions such as the middle east, Africa, etc. while the 61 ink cartridges are intended for the USA.

What country are you located at?

What country did you bought the printer from?

May you moved with the printer from one country to another?

Looks like you moved.  You need to have the printer recognized for your county.   You will have to contact HP to have the printer reset here.

Make sure you have a new set of cartridges ready.
