HP P1102w
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Printer was working fine until I changed routers.  I understand I have to provide the new SSID/Password, but can't find how to do it without the original software CD (lost!).

Hi,

First reset the wireless settings as following:

Power off the printer.

Press and hold both the WiFi and Cancel Buttons.

Power on the printer and Hold the buttons until all the lights blink in unison, then release the buttons.

From your PC go to Start >  All Programs > HP > Wireless Configuration and follow the steps on screen

Note: you may be required to temporarly plug a USB cable.

If you cannot locate that option within your start menu then you will need to unisntall the printer from the Control Panel > Uninstall a Program and then reinstall its software below:

Thanks a LOT for your prompt response!  At least, you've suggested that I've been on the 'right path', because your suggestion comports with the other avenues I've trod.

I did as you suggested - First I looked for the Wireless Configuration under Start.  Not there.  So I uninstalled the printer.  Did the reset on the printer.  Erased my previous download of the same file you suggested, then downloaded it using your link.  It brings up a popup labeled "Animated Getting Started Guide".  This popup gives options for USB Install and Wireless Install.  I've been here multiple times already, and still don't know which option to choose.  I've tried both.  When I choose the Wireless Install option, it wades through a bunch of videos on unpacking and setting up the printer, then I hit a screen telling me that for a Wireless Install, I must go to either the "Getting Started Guide" or the "User Guide".  There is a link to "View User Guide", so I went there.  After wandering around in the wilderness of the User Guide contents, I finally stumbled into "Use The Wireless Configuration Utility", which I interpreted to be analogous to your suggested "Wireless Configuration".

VOiLA!

From there, I got to where I needed to be.  After completion, the Start, All Programs, HP, LaserJet Professional 1102 Series, Wireless Configuration option appeared for the first time.

SO, not precisely as you outlined, but HUGE Kudos to you for helping me succeed at this task which ought to be FAR simpler to accomplish directly from HP's Support site.  I'm relieved thanks to your help, but not al all anxious to see friends or myself subjected to the pain I went through to get here.

Hi,

I don't see the 'wireless configuration' utility anywhere in my Windows Start menu (Windows 10) - and I tried following your description as well as doing several uninstall and reinstall of all the different drivers and support apps i can find on HP websites :-((

Any ideas would be much appreciated!!!

Also, when starting the 'Smart' app it shows the startup screen for several seconds and then it's gone - and nothing comes up!?!

Thanks

Ole

OMG this helped me so much!! Spent 4 hours tonight trying everything, and all it was was the saved settings in the printer! Thanks for helping me move on with my life, Shlomi... You're awesome!

@OMygind:  Have you browsed to the HP installation folder and looked for the Wireless config .exe file and run it manually? Mine is in a path similar to this..

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\HP\HP LaserJet Professional P1100 Series

Look for one named "Wireless Configuration".

@maheep1, please manually launch the installation as following:

Right-click the Start menu and select Run, paste the following and press OK:

C:\LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution\HpSetup.exe

Now follow the installation to reconfigure the wireless connection.
