Hi ,
I am new to creation of PCL file. I have a comp logo and this image i have added in word document ( A4 page ) . Then with help of HP Laserjet 4 i am trying to create a PCL file. this file I am using in Baan ERP to print the logo in Baan reports. But when I try to print in the report in PDF ( A4 PAge ) it prints logo on first page correctly , whereas second page is having only logo and third page having no logo with report content. I didnt understand where I am making the mistake .
Can anybody help me to understand how I can rectify this.
Thanks and regards,
NB

I have no knowledge of Baan ERP, so can only guess at exactly how your mechanism described as "... PCL file. this file I am using in Baan ERP to print the logo in Baan reports ..." works.
From your brief description, I have to assume that it probably depends on the logo (converted from a Word document to a PCL file via a suitable PCL printer driver) being available as a downloaded PCL macro which can then be called, or executed, or set as an automatic overlay for pages of the report.
Just 'printing to file' the output of the driver is not sufficient - the content of the resultant .prn file will contain PCL (and probably PJL) 'commands' which should not be present in PCL macros.
The file must be 'cleaned' to remove these unwanted 'commands'.
The Make Overlay tool in the PCL Paraphernalia application (available via http://www.pclparaphernalia.eu) can help here.
Another point - the output of a LaserJet 4 printer driver will be printed by most modern LaserJet printers, but:
- It may be rather inefficient compared with the output from a later, more targetted, driver.
- Fonts will be slightly different - the set of fonts on the LJ 4 have been superceded by different sets of (similar) fonts on later printers.

Perhaps you are doing something like that described in this (old) Baanboard support document, which is (roughly) as I surmised in my earlier post.
