Designjet T1200 HD

I am trying to find a way to change the type of PDF standard the T1200 scanner uses.

Is the only scanning option for PDF the PDF/A or can this be changed to just a normal PDF?

Most of the scans we make do not need to use this standard and we usually will edit the PDF to add comments, highlights, or add additional pages/information. We also will merge the pages from the scan to other PDFs. It seems that the scanner all of a sudden started scanning in the PDF/a standard which restricts the editing so that it stays in compliance with the standard. I have dug through all the settings I could find and can't figure out where to change this.

Thank you!

In Acrobat's Preferences > Document settings, you can switch off a Display PDF/A in PDF/A-mode.

Once you've done that the blue horizontal band informing you about the PDF/A property of the file at the top of each page will disappear, and it will be possible to manipulate the file. (You may need to re-open the PDF).

Once manipulated (and saved), the PDF/A property will be lost anyway. Viewing PDF/A files in PDF/A-mode prevents Acrobat from changing the file (since PDF/A is for *a*rchiving).
