We have a

HP Color LaserJet 4700dtn

that give the message Paper Jam  in Tray 3 13.20.00

I've watch a video on a similar printer and the pics on the 4730 model

but I can't seem to locate a paper sensor/flag (if there is one)

for this particular model.

Suggestions?????

There were three trays on this unit.

We decided to remove the offending tray and lo and behold the problem resolved

We told the users, since they have many other printers to use, that this unit works, but with two trays.

As it is a color model and now it works, they were happy.

We have the offending tray in our office and we'll look at it more closely to if anything looks suspicious but for now, the unit works

Forget about sensor. Is the tray backstop in the correct position. Have you checked the condition of the pickup rollers. Does it work from tray 2. If it does swap the rollers from tray 2 to tray 3 and see if that makes a difference. Now if the message is on the printer display when you turn on the printer, this means you have a piece of paper stuck somewhere in the printer path. It may not be at tray 3 but can be at the fuser, transfer belt or coming up from the bottom.
