I'm trying set up my 7500 to lay as much ink as possible on A3 transparency media to produce a dense "Black" image that will allow minimal light transmission for producing positives for light-box "stencil masks". I realise that this is probably beyond the design scope of the printer, but the alternative at a DIY level is old-school silk screen printing, An HP printer solution would be much more elegant.
It's light transmission that is critical, not the reflected colour.
I have so far found that the best media for this is an milky blue coated inkjet transparency film , printed with black produced by the CMY ink cartridges only. The "black" ink cartridge does not seem to work as well with this media.
I also need "borderless" printing, but I can compromise on colour accuracy, edge definition, resolution, ink drying time, ink economy, print speed even printer life, if I can get an acceptable result.
There are 100s of permutations and combinations of printer driver settings, profiles, modes, media types etc. Far too many to trial by error.
- Are there any media (paper) type settings or printer modes that always print black using CMY only?
- Is there any way of maximising the amount of ink deposited on the page?
- Is there information available that describes the way the printer behaves for different paper types, modes, print processing options, colour Management settings etc.
Using CorelDraw 14 on Windows 10, HP Officejet 7500 E910
Thanks

Thanks.
I may not have made my question very clear.
I have read the manual (thanks) but I cannot find any information relevent to my query within it.
To paraphrase, I am looking for details about how each type of paper is processed by the printer.
For example, it MAY be the case that the printer:
- sets the pinch roller pressure /distance at XXX for paper that is YYYmm thick
- deposits XXX% more ink for YYY paper types
- allows XXX seconds of drying time for YYYs paper types.
- sets a dot pitch of XXX for YYY paper type.
- does not use the Black cartridge when printing on XXX paper types
- uses the black cartridge for dark areas in XXX mode
- will not print borderless because the ink may run from XXX paper types.
- prints in super rich colour mode only on Thursdays when using pro glossy paper,
- Adjusts the colour hue when using XXX papers.
There may be many different settings for different papers in different circumstances.
The fact that the user has the option of setting different paper types implies that the printer 'does something different' for each of those paper types.
Can I get details of that information?
Specifically, Is there a paper setting or mode that maximises CMY ink deposit without using any Bk, and can I force borderless printing in that setting/mode, even if I have to "lie" to the printer about the type and size of the paper?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply back @Bluetobits.
The only options we have are based on printer settings. The detailed information you are requesting is not available to provide you with.
Here is a document with some information under "Understanding Desktop print settings" section for the print driver settings available: Change Print Settings.
I have provided a couple of documents that was available for the paper types available that you can have a look at.
You can set the printer to print in Grayscale mode through the printer properties which is provided in the User Manual.
Thanks!

Thank you for at least telling me that the information and help with this is not available. It's refreshing that a company as big as HP can hold up their hands and admit that they can't deliver or disclose the information rather than evading the issue, or supplying inappropriate information as a fob-off (that just makes matters worse and shows the support team up as being incompetent or rude for ignoring the issue raised) . If nothing else, I now know to try a different approach. I understand Epson has a solution, or at least a work-around , but I would have much rather used one of my existing HP printers.:smileysad:
Thanks again.

Hi @Bluetobits,
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.
