HP Officejet Pro 8600

All of a sudden my paper tray won't lift up when it is put into the machine. Doesn't matter how much or how little amount of paper is in the tray. I've checked all springs, and everything is in place. I can manually trigger the tray lift but the machine isn't doing it.
