The paper tray on my printer will not stay at the proper height to be able to load paper into the printer.

I can manually raise the tray back to the appropriate height, but as soon as the printer initializes.  The tray drops and will not raise back up to feed paper.

Greetings @RNR2

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing an issue with the paper tray on your printer. I will be glad to assist you.

Is there any damage on the paper tray chassis?

Have you checked if there is any obstruction or if the tray is seated correctly in the slot? Refer to this setup guide.

The issue you are facing is purely a hardware issue and recommend you to get in touch with our phone support to check on the upgrade or service options available.

For tray adjustments, refer to page number 11 in the user manual for tray adjustments. Click here for the printer manual.

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Please give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accepted Solution" and "Kudos" buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck.
